Joint Service with The Cornerstone Bible Church

Greetings!

Please plan to attend the joint service this Sunday evening in Natomas.  This is a wonderful opportunity for us to fellowship with like-minded brothers and sisters.  The service begins at 6 PM.  Maps to the church are available in the foyer.

For God’s glory,

Pastor Rod

    Hello Pastor Rod,

As I don’t believe the gbcr@surewest.net email address works (unless updated over last couple months), I thought I’d reach you this way. Sorry I missed this event in Natomas; was out of town helping my parents.
On different note, while channel surfing the radio recently I came across the Catholic radio station. They mentioned Indulgences on a positive note, which surprised me. I would think that they would want to bury it in their past. They even referred to their website for further reference. I read a one-page decree on Special Indulgences (written this year) at link below that continue to surprise me - it appears that they (top priests) continue to grant relief from temporal punishment if the saint follows the prescribed outline. Amazing. any comments?

Also, I am thankful that this website is coming along. It does appear, now, that we are a very uneventful church as there is nothing on the calendars. Although I can’t help there, I can help in updating some of the other text that is out of date.

    Blessings.

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for noticing the progress of the website. We are excited about it as well. Thanks to Kyle the website is taking shape. We had a wonderful time of fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Natomas. On indulgences. I can’t say that I am surprised by this. Though we can be surprised by much of what is being taught today, we always have to do as the noble-minded Bereans did and examine the Scriptures daily, “to see whether these things were so.” As you know, when we read the Scriptures we find no such thing as an indulgence or “relief” from punishment…outside of Christ. There is much, much more to say about this but I don’t want to turn this into a 15 page comment.

    Trusting in Christ Alone,
    Pastor Rod
